His stunningly realistic paintings focus on the magnificent beauty and incredible vastness of the universe. To achieve this, Faughn uses a variety of medias such as oils, acrylics and ultra-violet sensitive paints on canvas, illustration board and other surfaces.
He also works in the realm of digital media. “I find this to be very exciting and also a tremendous challenge to master,” explains Faughn. “This art requires an extensive knowledge of traditional painting and the principles of fine art as well as expertise in the effective application of digital tools.”
The artwork in this show is a combination of all these media. A few traditional paintings will be shown. Faughn is especially excited to offer his first personally signed and numbered LightJet limited edition prints.
Each individually reproduced print has been created from digitally mastered original traditional paintings and digital artwork. Every print has been individually created using a state-of-the-art photographic imaging device called a LightJet 5000. This high-resolution photographic printer uses technology developed from space satellite imaging systems to produce reproductions with stunning sharpness and vivid color.
Faughn has become a popular lecturer across the country. He is an aviation enthusiast who works with regional and world humanitarian missions. Born in Paragould, AR, Faughn now resides in Memphis, TN.
