CTI Receives "Bravo Zulu" from MBJ

Crew Training International, Inc.  |  Published on 05/07/2003

Memphis, TN - Navy ships raise the Bravo Zulu flag to congratulate another ship on a job well done. The Memphis Business Journal raised the flag for Crew Training International, Inc. by naming them the 2003 Small Business of the Year for the 25 to 75 employees category. The news was announced at the awards banquet held at the Peabody Hotel May 6.

Crew Training International (CTI) was started in 1992 by two U.S. Navy fighter pilots. Working from a home office with a $500 investment, Al Mullen and Steve Harden have grown the company into a multi-million dollar, international business now housed in a state-of-the-art training facility with a very impressive client list.

Factors that influenced this award include CTI's nearly 400% growth rate over the last five years and a 95% customer retention rate; their international scope; their recent expansion into the medical industry; and a soon to be released community program offering, free, one-day workforce training seminars.

Crew Resource Management (CRM), CTI's founding and still primary product, teaches people who work together as a team in stressful, time-critical, high tech environments how to communicate effectively and work more efficiently to reduce errors and manage outcomes. Crew Training also develops and delivers technical training for highly skilled professionals faced with learning to use new technology.
