Memphis, TN - Crew Training International, Inc. (CTI), announces the future showing of the renowned contemporary abstract expressionist artist, Marjorie Liebman. Ms. Liebman, who was trained at the Chicago Art Institute, Washington University Art School, Southwestern, now Rhodes College, and the University of Memphis, will be exhibiting her new series of paintings at the facility starting in early June.
Ms. Liebman, who returned to Memphis in the 50's, where she set up her studio and started painting here. Ms. Liebman, in conjunction with Brooks Art Museum was instrumental in getting the contemporary art movement started in Memphis. One of her paintings currently hangs in the Brooks Art Museum as part of their permanent collection. Ms. Liebman has also shown at Betty Parsons in New York, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Whitney Museum of Art. She has works, which are part of the permanent collections at the Galeria de Mexico, Mexican American Art Institute, and the Museum of Fine Arts, St. Petersburg, Florida.
Her many awards include, Virginia Intermont College of Regional Exhibition, Grumbacher Prize, Brooklyn Museum, Ford Foundation Grant.
